So much for the next generation.
Have children? Have children that like to eat? Don't buy organic because it's too expensive? It's too expensive not to buy organic. New studies have revealed that herbicides in genetically engineered corn and soy crops, designed to become inactive in the plant, become active again in the gut of the consumer, destroying gut flora. Even more disturbing, the enzyme created by the herbicide in our systems closely resembles an amino acid involved in brain function. This enzyme destroys nerve cells in the brain.
Children's brains, not yet fully devleoped, are at the most risk for damage. One study found that the offspring of rats that ingested genetically engineered crops became very aggressive, attacking each other unto death. Retarded growth and brain development, increased death rates, and birth defects were also reported.
Unless, of course, you don't mind losing your friendly gut bacteria and you feel you have brain cells aplenty to spare, and really, aren't children supposed to be aggressive? Do they really need all of those brain cells? Wouldn't they be easier to control if they were stupid? Can't plastic surgery fix cleft palates?
